Informasi dan Edukasi Obat Tuberculosis (TB) Sebagai Upaya Pencegahan Pada Masyarakat

Abstract

Until now, in the city of Palopo itself, tuberculosis (TB) sufferers are still high, data obtained from January to November 2022 reached 497 cases spread across all community health centers (PKM) or puskesmas and hospitals. Increasing public knowledge about how to prevent TB transmission and about good and correct cough ethics is an effort to prevent pulmonary TB. Good knowledge about tuberculosis and its prevention is very important as one of the TB prevention strategies, especially if it is supported by a good and appropriate attitude, it will produce positive behavior so that it can help the government in controlling the maximum transmission of TB disease. The purpose of this community service is to reduce the risk of transmission of Tuberculosis through monitoring, information and education efforts for the community in Wara Timur sub-district, Palopo city. The community service method is carried out through socialization and direct counseling in the field with the lecture method followed by a question and answer session targeting the community members of the East Wara sub-district. The socialization was conveyed by the speaker through lectures with the help of leaflets containing material. This service activity can increase the knowledge and ability of residents to prevent TB transmission and practice the correct cough etiquette.
